The Basics:

I am a thirty-something manager of a convenience store in Springfield, Missouri. I’ve been in Springfield for about 12 years now, but spent my childhood in Minnesota, Arizona, and California. The older I get, the more my memories of my time in those places fades, and Springfield is finally starting to feel like “home” to me. I am still single and childless, much to the disappointment of my parents! Speaking of which, my fantastic folks live just a short drive away in Nixa, and  I have two older sisters that also live in the area.

Some other things worth noting:

  • I’m a bit of a “tech-nerd.” I love all sorts of gizmos and gadgets, especially computers. I’m the guy my family and friends call when they have computer problems, but the truth is I’m not as smart as they think I am.
  • I’d like to change the world, but I haven’t figured out how yet. I believe strongly in things like justice, equality, diversity, and the intrinsic worth of every living thing, and am inspired by those that spend their lives fighting for these things.
  • I have many questions, but very few answers. There are very few things that I can say I know with absolute certainty. I hold on to opinions loosely, and trade them frequently when new evidence is found. Some may say I’m “wishy-washy,” I prefer “open-minded.” This characteristic does not bode well for me as a blogger. Successful bloggers (and writers in general) tend to have strong ideas and opinions that inform their writing. I suppose I’ll spend more time asking questions than providing answers.
